This month’s actor of the month award goes to Malcolm McDowell. We actually don’t have an actor of the month award, so just go with me on this. After watching the recent movie Doomsday, i was inspired to look him up on IMDB. I realized what an impressive body of work he boasts. Check it out!
Doomsday: A post apocalyptic movie that shares similarities with Mad Max, 28 Days Later, The Warriors, and Resident Evil. What’s not to like? McDowell plays one of the 2 war-lords of Scotland.
Metalocalypse: the internet tells me that McDowell voices a character called “Vater Orlaag.” I’ve only seen a couple episodes of this show, but i’ve seen enough to know that its my favorite show ever. I just recently got hooked up with cable, so you can bet i’ll be tuning in to this show. especially because it looks like my hero Mark Hamill also does voice acting for this show.
Halloween (2007): I HATE ROB ZOMBIE (as a film director). which is why i swore up and down i would never see this movie. i was certain that he had ruined another classic, as it is the fate of many classics to be sent to the meat grinder of hollywood remakes to be horrifically butchered. yet Zombie’s remake of Halloween stands apart from the rest of the remakes. this one is a gem. and thanks largely in part to McDowell’s great portrayal of Dr. Loomis.
Heroes: one of my favorite TV shows (its just like x-men! yay!) i haven’t seen season 2 yet. McDowell plays Mr. Linderman in season 1.
Tank Girl: best movie ever. i just watched the trailer and remembered how awesome it is. McDowell is the bad guy. if you have this movie, PLZ let me borrow it! KTHNX BYE
A Clockwork Orange: phenomenal. seriously one of the greatest movies ever made. seriously great performance. i’ve seen the movie before, but totally forgot he was the lead character because of how much younger he looks. a milk bar! haha!
Star Trek: Generations: no one else cares about star trek besides me!
Thanks for all the awesome movies/TV shows Mr. McDowell.
A milk bar! LOLZ
Yep, Malcolm McDowell does at least two voices on the 2nd season of Metalocalypse.
He voiced the baby eating criminal in the first episode of the 2nd season and Vater Orlaag in the other 5 episodes seen so far.
Adult Swim will restart the 2nd season of Metalocalypse at Midnight on April 6th and will rerun the first 6 episodes before getting to any new episodes.
So, you can catch up if you want to! The first season is out on DVD. Enjoy!
